{"id":805,"date":"2018-09-30T20:35:19","date_gmt":"2018-09-30T19:35:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/?page_id=805"},"modified":"2018-10-03T02:27:23","modified_gmt":"2018-10-03T01:27:23","slug":"kodi-tutorial-calibrating-the-screen","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/?page_id=805","title":{"rendered":"Kodi Tutorial: Calibrating the Screen"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Calibration<\/h2>\n<p>If you notice on the home page that the Kodi logo and the date &amp; time are cropped we will need to calibrate the video output:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-806\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/image21.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"353\" \/><\/div>\n<p>To calibrate the video output we need to navigate to the <strong>\u201cSYSTEM\u201d <\/strong>menu:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-807\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/image22.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"348\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Select <strong>\u201cSYSTEM\u201d<\/strong> to open the Settings page:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-808\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/image23.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"348\" \/><\/div>\n<p>At the Settings page navigate to <strong>\u201cVideo output\u201d<\/strong> and select <strong>\u201cVideo calibration\u201d<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-809\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/image24.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"348\" \/><\/div>\n<p>This will allow you to re-size the screen. We need to keep moving both down and right until a blue arrow appears in the top left-hand corner of the screen. Move yourself closer to the screen and position this (arrow) so that every pixel of your TV is in use; if you paid for a 1080 HD television you want to make sure you get all 2,073,600 pixels (1920 x 1080). Once your completely happy press the <strong>OK<\/strong> button on your remote to advance to the next stage:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-810\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/image25.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" \/><\/div>\n<p>This process needs to be repeated with another blue arrow that appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Again when you are happy press the <strong>OK<\/strong> button on your remote to select:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-811\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/image26.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" \/><\/div>\n<p>We are now presented with a blue line that represents where the subtitles would be positioned on the screen. Press OK again:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-812\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/image27.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The last screen of the calibration process displays a blue square; this should be square not rectangular:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-813\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/image28.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" \/><\/div>\n<p>If everything looks OK press the <strong>Back<\/strong> key on the remote to exit.
