But before we connect the hard drive to the Raspberry Pi we need to first connect it to a computer and rename the device to \u2018<strong>My Media<\/strong>\u2019. Then open the drive and create the following folders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Addons<\/li>\n<li>Backups<\/li>\n<li>Movies<\/li>\n<li>Music<\/li>\n<li>Pictures<\/li>\n<li>Screen Shots<\/li>\n<li>TV Shows<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>Alternatively you can now run <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/?page_id=1694\">PRB Install Everything EP<\/a> to create the folders and set addon download paths. \ud83d\ude42<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Remove the Hard Drive from the computer and plug into a spare USB socket on the Raspberry Pi. You will briefly see a message appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen <strong>\u2018Mounted removable storage device. My Media\u2019<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-843\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bulis.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/image41a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" \/><\/div>\n<p>We now need to notify Kodi where the pictures, videos and music folders are located on the hard drive. This allows Kodi to create a database called the Library that catalogs what media you have and downloads the artwork and details about the movie, tv show or album. Kodi will then add menu items of the Home page so that you can search for your favourite movie or tv show by title, genre, actor etc.<\/p>\n<p>Using the folders we created earlier we are going to notify Kodi where the following content it located.
